Pressing via force-distance

PROMESS universal assembly presses are suitable for force-displacement-monitored assembly by pressing, for assembly by forming such as riveting or push-through assembly, for stamping, punching, clinching, deep drawing or for spring testing with high speed and precision, even with high press forces. The sensor technology of our assembly presses enables process-integrated force-displacement measurement during the press-fitting process.

During press-fitting, workpieces with a fixed geometric shape are permanently joined by a linear movement using force or force and form. Press-fitting via force-displacement with our universal assembly presses is initially carried out by approaching the parts to be joined and then pressing them together until a fixed stop, a defined force or a specified displacement is reached. The joining process is monitored by force-displacement sensors, the force-displacement curves are visualized and evaluated using envelope curve or window technology, and the recorded process data is analyzed by the UFM V5.xx or RX software and the DB Viewer.

PROMESS assembly presses enable force-displacement measurement directly during the press-fitting process, evaluation of the press-fitting process via force-displacement, and traceability of the measurement data. This ensures 100% control of every press-fitting process.

Press-fit technology is used to produce force-fit or force- and form-fit joints, e.g., in preliminary and final assembly. This results in permanent joints of monitored quality without the use of auxiliary joining elements or additives. Typical areas of application for press-fitting using force-displacement are automated assembly processes that require high repeat accuracy and monitored joining quality with the option of documentation. Today, press-fitting technology is not only an established and widely used joining technology in electronics production.
