Gerhard Lechler founded his start-up as an engineering office in the field of technical measurement in Berlin as early as 1977. His idea at that time was to develop a tool monitoring system. The patented measuring bearings were manufactured by hand and sold like hot cakes in the automotive industry for deep hole drilling.

This was followed in the late 1980s by the development of the universal joining module with integrated NC control. From the very beginning, Gerhard Lechler's strength and passion was to develop technical solutions for his customers, and this has not changed until today. The passion is carried on and so the core competence of PROMESS is still the development of high-quality technologies. A committed and motivated team of more than 100 employees at the Berlin location is constantly working to offer our customers an optimised solution and a high-quality product.
