Structure of the mechanics
The mechanical design is based on a spindle with guide integrated in a steel housing. In the inline design, the spindle is driven by the motor aligned with the spindle. The rotary motion of the motor is transmitted to the spindle of the joining module and translated into a linear motion. The spindle drive makes it possible to apply the full force in both pull and push direction. The position of the ram is measured by the integrated absolute encoder. The applied force is recorded by integrated force transducers and transmitted to the press control system.
The Universal Line5 RX joining modules are designed in inline or parallel design. Due to their robust construction, up to 15 million strokes can be achieved in average standard assembly processes.

The mechanics of the Line5 RX universal joining modules are controlled and monitored via the central RX controller. This enables parallel control of up to four mechanics and 16 sensors. The force signal of the servo press is transmitted loss-free to the controller by the digital pre-amplifier PDM-S RX. A TTL input allows the connection of additional sensors and measuring probes and thus offers extended diagnostic possibilities. The integrated absolute encoder ensures exact positioning of the press ram and makes a reference run at the beginning of the cycle unnecessary. Data evaluation is performed directly in the RX controller. Up to 1,001 programs and 100,000 process curves can be stored here.
The parameterisation and visualisation of the joining process is carried out via the RX software. Due to the intuitive web interface, the software can be commissioned and operated via all common browsers on various devices. Joining programs and sequences for controlling the joining mechanics can be created easily without any knowledge of PLC. The software also records and monitors the joining process via envelope curves and/or window technology and evaluates the data. In addition to the mechanics, further hardware components such as external sensors or signal transmitters can be connected, controlled and monitored.
